The Indian Navy has announced the recruitment for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (Information Technology) for the June 2025 course. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in English in Class X or XII and meet one of the following educational qualifications with at least 60% overall marks:

• MSc, BE, B.Tech, M.Tech in:
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Science & Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Software Systems
  • Cyber Security
  • System Administration & Networking
  • Computer Systems & Networking
  • Data Analytics
  • Artificial Intelligence
• MCA with BCA/BSc (Computer Science/Information Technology).

Age Limit

• Candidates must be born between 2nd July 2000 and 1st January 2006 (both dates inclusive).

NCC Candidates

• NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders in the Naval/Army/Air Wing with a minimum ‘B’ grade will receive 5% relaxation in cutoff marks for shortlisting, provided the certificate is dated after 1st June 2022.

Indian Navy SSC Executive IT Recruitment Selection Procedure

1. Shortlisting:
   Candidates will be shortlisted based on the normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
   • For BE/B.Tech candidates, marks up to the fifth semester will be considered.
   • For postgraduate candidates (MSc/MCA/M.Tech), marks in all semesters will be considered.
2. SSB Interview:
   Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email/SMS.
   The SSB interview includes:
   • Psychological testing
   • Group testing
   • Personal interviews
     Travel allowance (AC 3-tier rail fare) is provided for first-time SSB interviewees.
3. Medical Examination:
   Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination as per naval standards.
4. Final Merit List:
   Based on the SSB performance, subject to medical fitness and availability of vacancies.

Training and Commission

• Selected candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant.
• Training will include:
  • Naval Orientation Course at INA, Ezhimala.
  • Professional training at naval ships and establishments.
• Tenure:
  • Initially for 10 years, extendable by 4 years in two terms (2+2 years) based on service requirements, performance, and medical eligibility.
